THE CONCEPT IS SIMPLE!
If you find yourself in any situation where you feel threatened or unsafe getting in a car as a driver OR a passenger (FOR EMERGENCY RIDES ONLY) for the following reasons:
- Alcohol--you or your driver has had too much to drink and driving would be unsafe
- Drugs--you or your driver has been impaired by drug use
- Pressure--people trying to get you to do things you don't want to do like sex or crime
- Domestic Violence--you're at a friend's house and the situation gets bad
- Too Tired to drive and need a ride--sometimes you just can't drive because of sleepiness, like after a surgical procedure

- It's CONFIDENTIAL, no questions asked

Safe Ride Home Whidbey Island is a grassroots organization that blossomed out of the passion and motivation of a very small handful of Whidbey Island residents who wanted to improve the safety of our roads for all drivers and passengers, regardless of their ages.
SRHWI is currently involved with community partners such as Whidbey Island Bank, WhidbeyLocal.com, The Whidbey Weekly, Impaired Driving Impact Panel of Island County (IDIPIC), Cool Bayview Nights Car Show, the Whidbey Island Paramedics, and many other organizations. Safe Ride Home Whidbey Island is partnered with various Taxi companies

We are funded 100% by donations. The best way to say "thank you" is to pay for your ride.
The taxi companies will also accept payment the next day. if you can afford it, please pay your cab fare. The less money SRH has to pay the cab companies, the more people we can get home safely!Your cab fare is a small price to pay for safety. Consider the costs of the alternatives:
